- About Us
LeSage Foundation is a non-profit organization geared towards the development of children, yet catering to all ages. We focus on the 2nd section of the commune of Anse-Rouge, Department of Artibonite, Haiti (Notably: Coridon, Pointe-des-Mangles, Magasin, Bonal, Carrenage, etc.) Our programs are based on the following core elements to build up human performance and raise the standards of living which include the areas of: health, potable water, agriculture, salt farming, fishing, education, etc… Our thinking and concerns turn to our people who live in abject conditions, especially those living in Haiti. The emergence to help gathers a group young and open-minded citizens who desire to look back on those who are less fortunate and stretch out to them a supportive hand. Since our inception, we have invited people from all walks of life to share their dreams and ideals for a better tomorrow.
Salt is the most commonly used vehicle for iodine supplementation.
Consumption of iodized salt is a well-established and safe public health measure for prevention and elimination of iodine deficiency.
There is one hospital for the whole commune of Anse-Rouge (almost 40,000 inhabitants) and it did not have an Ambulance.
Many people (including women in labor) have lost their lives because they didn’t have a way to go to the hospital and the hospital couldn’t reach them either.
